About Your Mentor
I have spent my entire professional career dedicated to the field of health promotion. I believe in increasing access to a healthy environment and lifestyle. Prior to my career in health and wellness coaching, I spent 14 years in Public Health as an environmental health and safety consultant.
I began my journey in health coaching by becoming a Certified Wellcoach® in 2016. Over the next two years, I coached both private individual clients and patients of an integrative medical clinic. I earned my National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) credential in 2018.
In 2020, I shifted my career to health coaching education. I co-created and taught an NBHWC Approved Training Program for the University of Portland School of Nursing and Health Innovations (UPSNHI). It was in this role that I recognized how anxious my students were about accruing their 50 coaching sessions because of a lack of organized support. Because I truly wanted to help my students achieve their career goals of becoming an NBC-HWC, I found a way to fill the gap between education and credentialling.
I created a new elective coaching course at UPSNHI leveraging the University's connections to find willing practice clients for my students. The course provided a framework to complete 50 coaching sessions in alignment with the NBHWC Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice while offering continued professional support and mentorship. It was a success! And now I get to expand this same opportunity to you!
